    Hi
I have a 5 years old orange tree. Almost every spring all leaves would fall
due to the heat and dust in my apartment. Last May it was the worst season,
It was so bad that the top (main, leading) branch was dried up for top 4 inches.
Something similar happened 4 years ago, so my tree basically splits into
two main branches just 2 inches from the bottom.

Well, the question I have is: somewhere in the middle of the tree,
form a regular small horizontal branch, a few weeks ago
I saw a very straight vertical branch going up.
In a few weeks it became almost thicker than the horizontal mother branch
    See photos.

Should I cut it off or not?
It will become bigger that two tops that the now has!

    Thanks
    Lazar

    PS
Millet helped me with Spider Mite a few months ago thanks again !

Pruning is not recommended in citrus except to maintain containerized plants within a limited space. Pruning will only reduce or delay fruiting.
