I have a variegated sterlitzia that I am now trying to multiply. It has yellow leafes, Is this quite rare or does any one know of a simialar plant, it does produce seed so it doesn't seem to be sterile can any one advise me to the best way to plant this seeds?

Please note the correction to the spelling of this name, which does not indicate its being sterile, as you suggest. Propagation of the bird of paradise plant is usually done by dividing rooted suckers in springtime. However seeds can be germinated at 18-21 degrees C. but, bear in mind seed raised plants can take more than 3 years to come into bloom. We could not find information on yellow leaf colour.
