The information in http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/research/industry/arctostaphylos_vancouver_jade.php is very informative but does not include best time of year for pruning and or transplanting. It does say that cuttings root best from October to January; can I assume that this is the also the time for pruning and transplanting? I have a balcony container garden at my apartment so i cannot put my Kinninkinnick in the ground. Any help would be great. Thanks. Nick M
Hi Nick, Considering that ordinarilly the plant would be in the ground, it would be best to transplant in fall or early spring. Best not to put it in a new pot during freezing weather. Pruning can be done just after spring bloom. Newt
