The information in http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/research/industry/arctostaphylos_vancouver_jade.php is very informative but does not include best time of year for pruning and or transplanting.

It does say that cuttings root best from October to January; can I assume that this is the also the time for pruning and transplanting?

I have a balcony container garden at my apartment so i cannot put my Kinninkinnick in the ground. Any help would be great.

    Thanks.

    Hi Nick,

Considering that ordinarilly the plant would be in the ground, it would be best to transplant in fall or early spring. Best not to put it in a new pot during freezing weather. Pruning can be done just after spring bloom.
