Valerian

    I thought this was Valerian but not sure of the leaf? Seen on a hike to Lake Agnes at Lake Louise on July 22, 2020

    I'd say it's Valerian.
    If you find a plant and suspect to be Valerian, just smell it to confirm.

    Your uncertainty on the leaf may be because at first glance it appears to be emerging from fireweed foliage... but there is valerian foliage there too.
