Vaccinium ovatum, Evergreen Huckleberry?

    No flowers or berries but the leaves look like a Huckleberry. Not much light for a good picture. It was in a coastal Redwood forest in California. Thanks.

    The alternate, leathery, toothed leaves all fit V. Ovatum,as does the location. Flowers and/or fruit would confirm it.

    Specific epithet 'ovatum' probably refers to egg-like leaf shape.
