When you click the + plus sign, does it expand to give the characteristics?

Yes. Depending on how much detail Georgia Strait is looking for. But more about each could of course be found by looking at printed or web depictions elsewhere.

On another subject I see checking just the first growth category the weedy Norway maple is included. So, I assume other problematic trees appear elsewhere in the menu of supposedly acceptable kinds. I have seen unsuitable choices on other municipal approved/recommended tree lists. Which would seem to defeat their purpose.

There do seem to be a few head scratchers, particularly if considered through a climate change or likely pests of the future perspective.

    Interesting feedback

I wonder what would be ideal public sidewalk trees in this climate —- for RonB this is similar to Yakima or Wenatchee WA State

My list assuming a short list of climate zone approved trees

    easy to establish
    Size vs utility wires
    FireSmart
    Low water
    Easy maintenance (dropped fruit etc)
    Wildlife friendly
    Disease resistance
Doesn’t invade water / sewage systems
Attractive (ie not requiring brutal haircuts)

    just curious - thank you
