Hello Nandan Kalbag,, I'm writing as seems you have much experience with Zygocatus/Schlumbergera, etc. I have an 'unusual' specimen which I know to have been in my family (in North Georgia,USA, no less) for a least 100 years or so. I would dearly love to find it's 'genera/heritage/etc. (am I asking the correct questions...?). It's Physical appearance and 'hardiness' is very different from those I see today. Would a Digital Pic help, and would you have a bit of time to help me identify this spectacular Succulent which as a wonderful History in my Family. My Mom is 90, and remembers vividly her Dad "...going to the Bottoms..." to gather special soils to re-plant "E-Ma's" Cactus in,,There was NOTHING LIKE IT in Braselton, GA in the 1920s. All that remains of this magical, wonderful Plant I have !! I know if it was obtained in the early 1900's. IT MUST have TRUE DESERT DNA, certainly obtained before 'Greenhouse Hybrids..!!! Could you help ?? I'm not very good with Computers, but I do have some excellent PIX. Please advise, and Thanks for your time, and consideration,,,,,,regards PAUL WAYNE

Re: Christmas Cactus needs a new pot?

    Hello Paul,
Though I am not an expert with cactii, I would love to see the photograph of your 100 year old Xmas cactus. Do post it. If not me, somebody else will be able to identify the species for you. With regards.
    Nandan
