Unusual magnolia growth

    Hi all.
    I am curious to know what you think of this unusual growth on my magnolia tree !!
    I have never seen anything like it.

    Some saucer magnolia trees often produce these in this region.

    It should turn bright pink and then squirrels will come for it.

    Bright pink? Woody aggregate fruit? Often produced?
    Very interesting and Wow... can't wait.
    I'll watch for it changing colour and then try to catch a squirrel snatching it !
