untagged UBG tree/id please

    Fanny Bay, BC Canada
    These photos were taken March 27, 2007 at UBG. Unfortunately an ID tag could not be found. This might be a featured plant in 'Botany Photo of the Day' Pterostyrax psilophylla but there is no time stamp to when the UBG photo was taken. Proper ID would be greatly appreciated. The raggedness of the leaves makes me think its an evergreen in this zone.
