Fungi? Mushroom? November 2 2015; Capilano Pacific trail area. Would love to know. Beginner here. By the trail, on the ground in the forest. Fairly large, 5 or 6 inches accross, possibly a bit darker in colour than represented by the photo.
They look a lot like Laccaria laccata, which usually have caps that are a lot smaller than 6 inches across. Perhaps soaking up the recent rains expanded the caps significantly.
