Folks: I've tried to match to Lamiaceae, Lythraceae, Rubiaceae, Urticaceae, Scroph, but no luck. The stems are square. Does anyone have any idea?

It might be helpful to know whether this is a garden plant or one found in the wild.
    It reminds me of Monarda.

Is that Melbourne Canada or Melbourne Oz?

Folks: Thanks so much for your responses - the plant is in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne, Australia - Justicia fulvicoma is not on the plant list for the bed that the plant is in, but after looking at your responses, I'm sure you're right. The particular bed has only Justicia carnea (pink & white) and Justicia brandegiana listed. Thank you all for saving my sanity! Di
