Unknown vine

My wife is in a local garden club and yesterday saw a vine at a friend's home that was unidentifiable. Here's a photo - can anyone identify it. The leaves come in groups of 5. The seeds within the pod are a gelatinous mass.

 

Akebia. Commonly planted here. Fruits not always seen.
