We found this very large, showy flower growing by the roadside in Chiapas a few years ago. I am unsure of the habitat, since we took no notes at the time. But I am pretty sure we were at least 6,000 feet in elevation, the general surrounding was a pine forest, and this vining plant was growing in full sun. Thanks.

Chris. Thanks very much. A genus with over 500 species, I have just discovered. From what I have seen, it is indeed A. grandiflora.
