The weed is in South Central Lower Michigan, about twenty-five miles from the Ohio/Indian boarder. It is very similar to Ground Ivy and Pennywort. In the second picture, I have several leaves from Ground Ivy on the left, and several leaves of the unknown on the right. Note that the unknown is about the same size as Ground Ivy, but it is more elongated (more of a heart shape than round) and the outside margins are slightly saw-toothed instead of the scalloped pattern of the Ground Ivy. The texture of the unknown's leaves are very similar to the Ground Ivy in that the surfaces look almost identical...dull, no shine. My purpose is to kill it inasmuch as it has invaded my lawn and now has a foot hold in my goose pasture. I have tried several different herbicides, pre-emergent and post emergent including Pasture Pro, 2,4, D. I can kill Ground Ivy but this stuff is unaffected by the herbicides I have tried. Note: It does not appear to be Pennywort inasmuch as the description of Pennywort:"...The dark green leaves are glossy, with scalloped edges and are on long slender petioles. The petiole of pennywort is attached to the center of the leaf...", does not match due to the Unknown's lack of glossy or scalloped edges and the leaf is not attached to the center of the leaf. If it is the same weed that invaded my goose pasture, it produces a small white flower. I have not seen flowers on the plant in my lawn due to mowing before it can flower. Any help?
