I bought a couple coffee mugs with multiple types of succulents in them from the San Diego Botanical Garden, and I'm curious what the tall plant is. It grows buds on the tips of its leaves which then fall off and grow on their own and are replaced by more buds. It also grows really fast compared to everything around it, it's grown about a foot in 6 months. I couldnt find anything similar on the various succulent sites I found on google so I'm stumped... thanks in advance
Looks like one of the many species of Kalanchoe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalanchoe http://www.golatofski.de/Pflanzenreich/gattung/k/kalanchoe.htm http://www.desert-tropicals.com/Plants/Crassulaceae/Kalanchoe_linerifolia.html
More direct sunlight will help it to be less elongated - it's currently reaching out for the light. Kalanchoe is typically a full-sun succulent.
