Hi Marn, I did so: http://images.google.com/images?q=Clivia&hl=en&nojs=1 and I could not find any images that resemble the flower on the images above within the first 120 images. Could you please be more specific about the kind of Clivia you think of? Or is it something entirely different? Thanks, Robert.
No, I do not think that it qualifies as a succulent plant even though the leaves are a bit thicker than usual. I got the plant from a colleague. As far as I remember the plant had grown a cluster of bulbs and he removed them from the pot and kept them dry and without soil for about half a year. After this some of the bulbs were watered and they grew leaves again and were put into pots again. So I think that the plant is probably adapted to dry climates. I kept my plant for years but the bulbs were eaten up by beetle larvae and the plant died. Fortunately I got another specimen that I had grown from the berries that had formed after I tried pollination. It has been around for several years now and it is the first time that it is in bloom now. Do you need a more detailed picture of the leaves? I might take a photograph tomorrow.
