It's Petasites japonicus, AKA Giant Butterbur, Bog Rhubard, or Fuki. If you have the species form, it will spread aggressively and take over a fairly large area. If it's 'giganteus', a giant leafed form, it is far less aggressive, but still somewhat spread-y. Comparing it to the other plants in the picture, it's look, and given it's only coming up in one spot, it's likely yours is a giganteus (and so less aggressive)...if so, it will eventually form giant leaves around 4' wide. I'd keep an eye on it, and pull it if it's spreading too much: it runs close to the surface, and is easy to remove, though small root pieces will re-sprout and you need to be diligent. Leaf stalks are prepared as a vegetable in Japan.

Thanks for the info. I checked some pictures on the internet and it looks a lot like butterbur. I think I should get rid of it before it spreads. Although I must say the size of the leave are pretty neat.

You could enclose it with a barrier, as is done with running kinds of bamboos.
