We bought and planted in the spring a package of what was supposed to be Rudbeckia. Well, we are mid summer and the plants don't look like they are supposed to, so the question is, what did we plant? I've attached a photo of the plants for identification. We had a particular plant in mind for the location , so chances are we'll remove and plant fresh in the spring. The seeds are very very small, shaped like a grain of rice with a slight taper to them. They are roughly 2-3mm in length and less than 1mm in width. Any ideas on what we ended up getting? Cheers!

They look like euphorbia seedlings to me, not sure of which species.

If it is so, and you decide to remove them, be careful of the caustic sap, gloves and glasses are recommended.

    Edit: looks like Euphorbia lathyris

Thank you maf and Ron B. Definitely not a plant that I wish to have in the ground, so I'll take the precautions when removing it. I don't know how this ended up in the package, but it doesn't fit the scheme of things for the property. Thanks again!
