Hi there, I just got a new plant on a whim but I have no idea what it is. Here's a couple pictures, hopefully they're okay! Any tips on how to care for it would be appreciated as well.

Croton, that is, a Codiaeum variegatum cultivar or hybrid. Make sure the pot has good drainage, the soil is free draining (if it's in regular potting mix, amend with coir or peat) and keep it out of direct sunlight. They're fairly easy growers; the only ones I've ever killed were placed outdoors in direct light in the desert.

Keep an eye out for spidermites on this one (not that you'll get them) but it's a good idea to check once in a while anyway.
