In The Garden: Unknown plant with small yellow flowers

This is our first spring in our new home with extensive flower beds. The plant in the attached photo has me stumped.

Any input or suggestions regarding the id of this plant is most appreciated!

 

Looks like Lysimachia punctata. Common name Loosestrife.

Thanks Silver surfer! That does appear to be what it is. I just didn't know enough about this particular plant to even know where to start.
