Identification: unknown plant possibly from Hawaii

Hello,
So my neighbor had given my mom a plant that she says is from Hawaii but no one seems to know for sure. The plant has been flourishing in my mom's home but we'd all like to know what exactly is it. The leaves are thick, firm, and green with light green speckleing and have these lovely white and pink flower clusters that look like tiny starfish and when you put your hand against it, they ooze this sticky oil. Any idea what this plant is?
