Ok, maybe not DOOM, but at least doom. Since I started my quest to figure out what this plant was, I've found someone who told me. But, since I've taken the pictures, I figured I've give you folks a shot at confirmation. What is this thing? My apologies for the pictures. I cleaned the pocket lint from my camera phone's lens as best I could, but it's no Canon.

That's what I've been told. Thanks for the help!

Now that we've identified it, I have another question. Apparently, this thing has been around for 3 years. No one has seen a bloom on it since it originally came into the office as a standard holiday gift. Will this thing ever bloom again? Is there anything I can do to help it out?

not likely under office conditions. it requires a strict light exposure period to initiate blooming.

Very good to know! You guys are amazingly quick, and I appreciate that. I'm rather new at this, and have the blood of at least a dozen house plants on my hands, so pardon my ignorance. Would the light supplied through a large office window be enough, or would the plant need to be outdoors? Also, are we talking a specific period of light exposure (like exactly 7.5 hours per day), or particular temperature?

From the New RHS Dictionary of Gardening:

Note that the autumn long nights must exclude artificial light, as the plant treats this as added daylength; this is why plants rarely flower again as houseplants.
