This little plant has started growing in my fathers front yard and it is taking over the grass, we've tried some chemicals to get rid of it but it just keeps spreading. I've tried looking for it's name but can't find anything. Here's some pictures but I'll try to take another one tonight with an object for reference. but you can tell it's height from the neighboring grass that is about 2 to 2.5 inches in the picture. They look like very small trees. It started in a little corner and now after a few summers, it has taken over almost half of his front lawn. Where it grows the grass dies. I would greatly appreciate if someone can identify this.
Sedum acre, or mossy stonecrop. Control suggestions available from Extension.org: question and answer 1 and question and answer 2 In the future, identify the plant before you attempt treating it. You'll probably both save some money and not ineffectively use a chemical treatment (if that is what is truly warranted).
Wow, that was quick, and noted about the treatment. Thank you very much, I'll pass on the info to my father, he'll be glad to have a plan of attack. Did you mean to send twice the same link?
I agree that it's a Sedum, but the leaves seem to be way too narrow for S. acre (it may be a close relative instead). Of course the same controlling methods would apply nonetheless.
