    Bauhinia blakeana if a garden center purchase, or B. purpurea if a seedling or volunteer.

    i can see why you want it!! very pretty flower (can never go wrong with any shade of purple ;) ) and i just love the leaf form!! very different and interesting!!

    i'll bet it's not hardy in my area though...
