I took a picture of this plant at the Ninoy Aguino Parks and Wildlife Center in Manila, Philippines. I am having a fun time trying to ID this plant now that I am back in Canada. Any help would be much appreciated.

The closest guess that I have on this flowering plant is a Strelitzia Reginae but a confirmation or correction would be helpful.

    Thanks,
    Dave

We used to grow those. Agree with Tony - Heliconia variety.

The ants pursuing the abundant nectar are a dead give away. Bird of Paradise/Heliconia/Golden Torch
