Found this while out quading the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island and have never seen one before. At first I thought it was a rose hip because of it's size. After exhausting my books and quite a few websites I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me. It has a leathery skin and the insides are juicy, sweet and seedy.
That seems to be a pretty close match. I'm not sure about the being unpalatable though as these were quite tasty. Thank you for the response, much appreciated.
