This is a tall bush growing in a road allowance in Western/Central Manitoba. I squeezed a berry and it has light yellow flesh and is not very juicy. No, I didn't taste it! I cannot find it in my meagre reference books and I'm wondering what it could be. It is berry picking and jam-making season after all :) Thanks.
Hawthorn jelly is more popular in other areas I believe. I have never tried it, though I have some dried spiced hawthorn fruit snacks (from Mexico) in my office. They're good. http://www.calmmindpainfreebody.ca/wildthings/hawthornjelly/hawthornjelly.html
