I received some grass seed on the stalk from the coast of Alabama. I think I have correctly identified it as Uniola paniculata. It was given to me by my grand daughter who wasn't aware that she shouldn't have picked it. Is there a way to grow this plant in zone 5, central Indiana? Most plants for zone 6 will not grow here past the first winter but a few will. If I can't grow it out doors would I be able to grow it as a container plant and if so would it have to come into the house for the winter or could it be overwintered in an out building? What would be the best soil type?
