Unidentified iris type plant

    Is this an iris? if so, what type? The flower opens up much more flat than any other iris I've ever seen. The blooms are about 5 cm across, and face towards the light.

    It looks like one to me...as to what species/cultivar etc I have no idea...

    Looks like Iris japonica or one of its hybrids with Iris confusa.

    Thank you! I googled Iris japonica and that looks to be it, or a hybrid like you say. Thank you very much!

    This palest-blue-appearing-white Iris japonica form is fairly common in this region. Perhaps it is the same as the one grown in UK as 'Ledger's Variety'.
