I was hoping you all could help with the identification of two fruiting vines. Both vines were found in the wild in Central Florida.

The first one has a waxy leaf about 2-3" long. The fruit is deep purple and when opened, is purple and fleshy inside and stains the fingers... :)

The second is a woody vine with small leaves approximately 1/2" long. The leaves became brittle after only a few hours after cutting the portion of vine. The fruit is a dark blue, almost black, with a clear greyish center. It reminds me of the center of a grape with a single pit inside.

    Any idea?

    Thanks!

I think #2 is most likely Peppervine like you suggested. Researching further pictures has brought be to a few that look almost identical.

I have my doubts as to Simlax being #1 though.
