A Facebook post that appeared on my feed asks: "About 20 kilometers south of Nanning, Guangxi, P.R. China.... approx. 600 meters above sea level.... April, 2009. A medium to large woody vine, with fuzzy, large heart-shaped leaves, and this surreal blossom, about 8 cm. in diameter. What is it ?" The quote is from this FB user, in case the image doesn't upload here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201032114880983&set=gm.936503749748236&type=1 The photograph of the plant in question: Thanks in advance for any information and help to solve this mystery. :-) The shape of this seems to imply that only a specific pollinator can fertilize the blossom... Oh I missed this part: One commenter says this is a member of the Aristolochia genus, common names being birthwort, pipevine or Dutchman's pipe: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aristolochia Chris Green.
