I live in the Okanagan and have just planted my first vegetable garden. I keep hearing about green manure. I am just wondering what it is and when do I put it in my garden.
Any of several kinds of plants grown on the plot in alternation with food crops, tilled in at the right time to improve the soil. Familiar choices are annual rye grass and buckwheat.
