UK government concedes defeat to Japanese knotweed.

    Although the government has thrown up its collective hands in defeat, homeowners must still battle on: they can be forced to pay 3,000 pounds for a 'professional eradication plan' if the plant is discovered on their property, be placed under Antisocial Behavior Orders, and/or fined up to 2,500 pounds for failing to control invasives.

    Amazing that citizens are expected---nay, required---to accomplish what government has admitted it cannot do.

    Photo used shows Bohemian knot-weed - it seems (based on information elsewhere) there as here this is the "Japanese" knot-weed that has gotten all over, rather than the true item, for the most part.
