Curious if anyone knows if this is an aloe Vera plant. And if I want to cut the flower off and put it in a vase for someone, at what point should I cut it in the blooming process and where on the stalk should I cut it?

It is an aloe of some kind. Aloe vera should have yellow flowers, but these seem to have orange in them, so likely a different species.

As for using it as a cut flower: the few experiences I've read about online suggest it is messy (dropping expired flowers) with a strong likelihood it will wilt and be rubbery. Better to leave it on the plant!
