Here is white spiky, fuzzy green leaves with red midribs, maroon stems, stalks of white flowers around 2 cm in diameter, 5 petals, are those really fuzzy purple stamens? Here is what I'm calling dull orange spiky. Tubular flowers, narrow basal leaves. The out-of-focus last photo does show the stamens.
The first is Verbascum, looks very much like V.chaixii 'Album' The second is Digitalis, perhaps D.ferruginea
@Tyrlych beat me to it again lol. Spot on ID IMO. Was considering buying the Verbascum only a few weeks ago.
Couldn't it be Digitalis parviflora? I would not want to make a mistake but I have the impression that the flowers on the raceme are more "spaced" apart.
I was very surprised to find that this is Digitalis. Coming from knowing nothing about this species, I'm inclined to think that D. parviflora is a better match - the opening bud shape seems to match, and I think these do not have the same hairiness on the lower lip as D ferruginea. I'm sure better photos would have helped.
