Two plants to identify

    Both attached plants appeared in a plastic cup where I used to plant commelina Dianthifolia seeds - yet; both are not commelina- pls assist

    If it was closer to my neck of the woods I would risk saying the first plant could be Ranunculus sp.
    and the second Aquilegia sp.

    But in your area and climate, I am not sure :(

    What is ranunculus? Is it a flower as appearing on Google? Climbing rose!! Anyways thank you for your help

    You welcome. However, Ranunculus has nothing to do with a rose. Different family, even different order. There are hundreds of Ranunculus species, here is how seedlings of some of the species look like Ranunculus seedlings - Google Search

    All three Aquilegia, Delphinium and Ranunculus are in the same family Ranunculaceae

    You will have to wait for more leaves and flowers to say for sure to which, if any, of the three genera your plants belong. Anyhow, I am rather sure that they are something in the Ranunculaceae family.
