so I've had these two plants for a while now, and they really aren't doing too much, not growing much, not looking sick, but not thriving as I hope they will. But now knowing what they are stops me from finding out what I need to do to make them better. The first, with the white lady lamp, had green leaves with a sort of fuzzy purple fur on them which I like, but after 3 years the plant hasn't done much. The other sometimes has purple on the underside of the leaves, but only on certain leaves at certain times. Again, 3 years and not much to show. Any one have name for these so I can give them what it is they need to thrive. Thanks

Velvet plant and one of the wandering Jew family plants. Both appear to need to be moved to brighter positions, closer to a window.

That is a Purple Velvet plant and a Purple Heart wandering jew plant .. and yes they both need more sun ... the wandering jew one will turn to a deep purple leaves. when in the sun .. trust me you will see the difference .. :) and it will grow lil pink flowers...

The Purple velvet one will sprout yellow flowers but you want to remove them right away .. they smell bad so ive heard from any who have the plant .. they say it smells like dirty sweaty feet ...lol..
