Massachusetts. I have two low woodland margin plants. I would like to know what they are and if they are toxic to my puppy. One is about a foot high with three large green leaves 3-4 in across, and a 1/8 in stamen with a cluster of 3/32 size red/orange balls. The cluster is about 1 in high and 1/2 in in diameter. The other plant is a small vine and produces several orangy/lyellow pods sort of round but irregular with dimples, and hollow.

    Thanks
    Triliam

Well, if we're gonna hafta guess, I'll ante up with Momordica charantia or bitter gourd for the second. On very dry ground, the bitter gourd forms pretty small oval fruits rather than the long narrow ones. Google images.

We could really use pictures, but a fuller description might help.
