Identification: two little shrubs

I bought them in an ornamental pot and I don`t have any idea what are they and also on which path of identificatin to go.

I found out that the second image is representing Calocephalus brownii. But the first one?

 

I am pretty sure that your first bush is something in the heather family. An Erica or Calluna.
