If anyone can tell me the name of either or both of the attached plant images you'd make my day. The first plant on the left, self-seeded in a friend's front perennial garden - while the dark purple fruit looks very succulent and tasty, neither leaf nor fruit has been touched by any insect all year long so I assume the plant is poisonous to some degree. The second plant, on the right, was planted by the same friend from seed taken from a plant while on vacation the previous year. Unfortunately, both these images were taken in late October. In the case of the second image, the flowers are pretty much done, however they are pink trumpet like flowers that are fragrant at night - the flower and fragrance at night reminds me of fragrant white nicotiana but this plant while about the same height, is much more branching in nature, has pink flowers instead of white and the seeds are singular, large and black vs the very many and very small brownish seeds of white nicotiana - maybe they're related?? Thanks for any help you can provide identifying either plant.
