Here are three oak trees on two blocks in the Strathcona/Chinatown neighbourhood that has a lot of interesting street trees. I was pretty sure I recognized these, and as is never the case, the city's database has them identified with the same names. Well, I would not have come up with the cultivar on this Quercus frainetto 'Schmidt', listed on the database as Forest Green, which is the trademark name. The leaf undersides felt soft.

Next to this is a willow oak, Quercus phellos. I didn't find any acorns.

Catty-cornered to these is a sawtooth oak, Quercus acutissima. Again, no acorns.

Next to the Q. frainetto are supposed to be several Quercus rubra, and two Quercus palustris at the end of the block. Some look more like one than the other, but none of them looks like this one, which has leaves that seem the shape of Quercus rubra, but they are very shiny and light in colour.
