I have a problem. I live in Michigan and we just had a early thaw. Most of the snow is gone and it is still pretty warm, but it won't stay that way. I would like to know how to keep the tulips that have already started to grow from growing any more or getting frozen out. Any ideas?

I would cover them with mulch (straw, bark, leaves) to protect the foliage from damage when the temperture drops again. Piling snow on them (when you get it) works for me too. You do want to be careful not to create an overly wet environment or they might rot. My experienc is that tulips foliage is fine at +25F. Consistent temps. below that can be a problem. Hope this helps.
