Someone just gave me a lot of tulip bulbs and I want to plant them but wonder how deep they should be.
I live in Quebec and besides a little rain yesterday it is still nice. It only gets cold at night so can I still plant the tulip bulbs I have?
Hey Dasha Go for it. Tulips need to be planted in the Fall in order to get some cold weather time in the ground. Now is the best time!
Oh no!!!!! We had a little snow the night before I wanted to plant the bulbs but the ground isn't frozen yet. I have a lot of bulbs and hope it isn't too late.
Hi Dasha, I realize you posted this two weeks ago, but if the ground hasn't frozen yet you can cover the area with an old sheet and it will keep the ground from freezing. It would be best to put a couple of flower pots under the sheets so there is an air pocket. Weigh the sheets down with stones, bricks, etc. Been there, done that! Newt
