Trying To Identify an Apple/Crabapple Tree (I think)?

    Some say it's edible. Some say it's not.

    I'm trying to identify a tree that looks like a crab apple tree (I think), and find out if the fruit if edible. Searching online, I've discovered how hard it is to know for sure.

    I've included pictures below. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Yes, a crabapple. All crabapples are edible, though usually only nice after being cooked with plenty of sugar.
