    Hello,

I'm trying to identify a kind of bug that I keep seeing on the ground of my houseplant.

They are very tiny white multi-legged bugs that move really fast. I have never seen them on the plant itself, they stay on or in the ground. It's hard to tell what they look like because they're tiny and they move all over the place. Most of the time I don't see them unless I disturb the soil or wait until they appear. There aren't that many of them because I never see more than 2 or 3 moving on the ground at the same time.

The plant is healthy: nothing under the leaves, no spots, no webs, and it grows actively. The bugs don't seem to have any effect on the plant for now but I'd still like to know what they are. I've heard that some bugs are good and others are bad.

The plant is a Dwarf Schefflera. The soil is a pretty rich dark soil. I do not overwater and the plant gets good light.

    Any idea?

    Thanks!

I searched and it says springtails crawl slowly and jump when disturbed (whence the name). Those I have definitely run fast and they never jump. Good guess though! Still looking...
