Hi, I have been attempting to grow one of these trees also known as a Mimosa in zone 6A for the past 2 years. At the end of summer the trunk is about 2 feet high and slender. Over the winter I wrap the trunk with ARBOTEX and cover with a large clay pot. This hasn't worked for me. Each spring the trunk above ground is dead but the roots produce new shoots. I know that they have been successfully grown here and I think the problem is getting the tree large enough that it can withstand our cold temps. Does anyone have any ideas on further winter proofing? I know that some areas they use low watt light-bulbs to produce some heat. Is this a good idea? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Howard Bayliss
