I am new to Vancouver and am trying to buy a clivia plant. I have always had them as house plants in the UK and now I cannot find one here. Does anyone know of anywhere that might have them for sale?
    Many thanks

I haven't been lately but Southlands Nursery has had them in the past. You may want to check with them.

Thanks so much for the tip - I called them and they don't have any for sale right now but may in March/April, so I will try again then.

I see them offered repeatedly down here, it seems you are bound to find some examples there in time. Note that more than one kind, including at least one with yellow flowers has been on the market in recent years. Modern built-up versions tend to be more robustly structured than the original, with tighter flower heads and broader leaves held more closely - probably another example of breeders selecting for a formal appearance.

They are beautiful but alas VERY expensive plants. I have seen the seeds for sale on a U.K. website and I assume that if I hunt around I might find something in N.America too. Has anyone tried growing them from seed?
