troubled dwarf phoenix rubelina

    Can anyone identify what is causing this odd growth?

    If you were in Fla. or Arizona I'd say frizzle top(manganese or potassium deficient).
    There it might be physical damage, maybe a frost last Winter?

    Thanks for the thought but we are in Southern CA so do have some cool days but no frost. Guess I could try the minerals but the tree is part pf a cluster of 3 and the other stocks look normal. Appreciate your thoughts.
