Woot Woot! I just received a pile of seeds from a fellow plantswoman who knows I fancy tropicals and I am very excited.

I've done my research and am going forth but if anyone has had any success starting any of these plants from seed in the past and feel like sharing your trials and tribulations, I am all ears!

    Delonix regia
    Stephanotis floribunda
    Moringa oleifera
    Etlingera elatior
    Cestrum nocturnum
Solandra maxima ?? (question marks included because she wasn't entirely sure)

Delonix are ridiculously easy to start from seeds - but be aware that they do become rather large trees in time.... I wouldn't start them until you're sure that you've got spring, though - they're very cold-tender.
Solandra maxima has the same cultural requirements as a tomato when you're starting out (same family, they all work the same way) but will need vine-type support like a trellis as it grows.

The others I'm not terribly familiar with.

I suggest a heating mat at least for the Moringa, the others I'm not so sure.
