Trimming my jade?

    when can i trim my jade plant and begin starting new plants?

    Any time you want. It only takes one leaf. A full stalk gives you a faster head start though. :)

    Sara, check out used book stores and try to find a copy of one of the Sunset Garden books or similar. tons of good, basic info. Your Jade is called a Crassula, ovata. Again, the are many types and colors, and easy to grow. When I want a new start I look for a small branch that has grown to spoil the look or shape of the plant, cut and restart that one. Good way to shape your plant and get starts.

    All the plants that you have mentioned are very forgiving and easy to grow. Another easy plant you may want to try is a Hoya or wax plant. Again wide range of colors. barb

    Years ago I decided to try to get every color of Schlumbergera I could find. I finally gave up - way to many. barb

    Yes I have to get some books the last plant I had was a spider I was moving and it was too big so I gave it to my neighbor she loves it as much as i do.
